The 30th Annual Decadent Cabaret

The Chippewa Valley has only a few extreme party events throughout the year. You know when they are and what I'm talking about: FATFAR, Halloween, New Year's Even, and the unforgettable Decadent Cabaret. We're going to talk a bit about this year's Decadent Cabaret which is scheduled to begin on Friday, March 6th and end on Saturday, March 7th.

And... Lots of Scantily Clad Ladies Parading around in "SKIMPY" Costumes or Clothing

So what does this mean for you? What can you expect at the 30th Annual Decadent Cabaret? And how can you prepare?

Well first of all - you need to know where to go and what to bring with you for this great night of debauchery. The 2009 Decadent Cabaret will take place at the House of Rock on Water Street in Downtown Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The cover charge is just $5 at the door for music from 10 different bands each night. Yes you heard that right - just $5 for 10 different bands!

What to bring:

The Decadent Cabaret is the time for risqué costumes and outfits. Whether you choose to arrive in leather or lace, dolled up in a fancy dress or a snappy suit - make sure that you go all out to have the best dress-up experience you've had all year! Remember though: this isn't a Halloween costume party where you think you need to throw on a mask or dress up like a clown. The Decadent Cabaret is the time to show off your hottest outfits. Leather, lace, pinstripes, whatever you have available for the sexiest time possible - bring it!


What to expect:

20 different bands will be playing between these two nights. That's right! 20! So much music, so much variety, and so many people ready for the hottest party this side of 2009! So grab your hottest clothes and your all of your sexy friends and get ready for the 2009 Decadent Cabaret where as far as we're concerned: clothing is optional!

DJ Smiles + The Stones Throw

Early this year we had an opportunity to witness an evening at The Stones Throw that pretty much jumped straight out of movie-land - with a lot of Lights, Camera, and Action! We provided the Camera, DJ Smiles and The Stones Throw provided the Lights (and music!), and You provided the Action.


DJ Smiles has been working with music for years now. I still remember his house parties with black lights and various genres of music from hip-hop to trance and house to dance in the basement of some college rental somewhere near Water Street. His music and his skills have grown with him and now he spends his time performing professionally for the Dance Crowds of the Chippewa Valley. If you've been looking for a house/trance/dance/party music hotspot in the Eau Claire area you will find it sometimes down at The Stones Throw. Make sure you keep up-to-date with his next show and grab your glow sticks and party favors because its time to hit the dance floor with DJ Smiles.

We are thinking about starting with the House of Rock at 9pm for some KICK-ASS music (Jaggernauts, SF Inc., & Orestus), then moving on to Whiskey Dicks where we hope to Win a Trip to Las Vegas (wish us luck!), and then it's a toss-up between the breakfast buffet at The Stones Throw or breakfast at the Happy Hollow Tavern... we'll probably do both just so we can enjoy the mix of music from DJ Smiles and then the 2nd Countdown at the Hollow at 6am!

Halloween with Eau Claire Bars - the Blog

So things have been extremely busy here at Eau Claire Bars - the Blog. We've been getting questions from readers about plans for New Year's Eve already! So we're going to start tabulating some data from Eau Claire Bars for their plans for 2009. Look for that information to come sometime late this month or early December. Right now we're getting ready for next week's Thanksgiving celebration and want to quickly throw out the Halloween pics before we go any further.

Costume Contests in the Chippewa Valley

We're not sure where we're going or what we are going to be dressing up as for our theme for Halloween, but we're definitely going to spend time drinking and checking out the many costumes everyone else will be wearing. Last year we accepted pictures from readers of themselves in their Halloween Costumes. Our winner was "Dirk Damage" with his version of Ash.



So let's do it up again. Last year we put up $20, but this year we're going to increase that mark. So email us your pics for a $50 bar tab from Eau Claire Bars - the Blog at the bar of your choice! Eau Claire Bars - the Website & Omnibus Edition

So we've been active for over a year now and we've had over 10,000 unique visitors to the site looking for information about the bars and night life of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This has been a really great time and fun experience for us.

We are currently in the process of passing along some more information and details about bars in the Chippewa Valley. Our blog posts are great, but we want to start giving our visitors other bits and pieces of information on the bar scene in Eau Claire. We want to start allowing our visitors to add to the reviews and add to the content of the website. So watch for some changes soon, some small and some big! Look for Eau Claire Bars - the Website to be introduced alongside Eau Claire Bars - the Blog. It's been a very intoxicating year and we look forward to the next!
